Do You Know What Your Teens Are Doing?

Parents seem to be having more and more problems with their teenagers these days - especially those who are enrolled in public schools where immorality, drugs etc. are rampant.  Most have their own cell phones, making it nearly impossible to control who they are in contact with.  Add to that the social media on the internet where they can meet total strangers, and you have a recipe for major problems.

Many parents are simply wringing their hands, knowing that sooner or later their teen or teens will be in some type of serious trouble.

Did you know that you don't have to wait for a tragedy to happen?  Hire a private investigator to find out what exactly your teen is up to.  He will have several tools to help guardians or parents to track their teens in order to find out where they are going, who they are running with and what they are doing. Don't wait until it's too late to do something.  Call a local private investigator today.  Many offer free consultation visits.

Private Investigation in Narcotics Division

Another area that private investigators often work in is the narcotics division of a local, state or federal police department.

Private investigators in Sumter, SC just finished up a three month narcotic investigation, resulting in the arrest of one drug dealer.  Disguised as druggies, the investigators purchased illegal drugs, including cocaine, from the man on several occasions.  The drug dealer even went as far as to sell the druggies a non-narcotic substance, claiming it was a drug.

The investigation came to an end this past Tuesday, July 2, when the investigators arrested the dealer.  He is presently being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center pending his trial.

Moms As Private Investigators

Moms are their own private investigators.  God gave them the ability to sense when something is wrong.  They also have the ability to figure things out when no one else even suspects that something is going wrong.

When I was growing up, I always wondered how my Mom always knew what I had done.  I could never hide anything from her, and I'm sure that many of you know exactly what I mean.

When I had my own children, I always told them not to try to hide things from me, because God would always show me sooner or later.  It was so true, and I was often amazed at how He would do exactly that.

Speak Softly Someone May Be Listening

Did you know that the government recently passed the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA)?  Do you have any idea what this means?

In their own words this new law now requires that "telecommunication carriers and manufacturers of telecommunications equipment modify and design their equipment, facilities, and services to ensure that they have the necessary surveillance capabilities."  In common every day words, it simply means that this law makes it easier for law enforcement agencies to tap into your phone, internet connection, VOIP etc.

Undercover Investigation in Polk County, Florida Turns Up 41 Child Predators

June 17, 2013

During the past week private investigators have been conducting surveillance in Polk County, looking for online child predators.  Forty-one were arrested including one female.  The suspects answered ads from places such as Craigslist and Backpage and talked with investigators on social media sites.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said that even though this private investigation is the tenth operation of its kind that has been carried out since 2006, and in spite of the fact that the arrests are broadcast through the media and suspects are placed under arrest, men and women continue to travel to Polk County, Florida, to have sex with a child.  He assured the people that private investigators will continue to hunt down and arrest those who come there for that purpose.
Theme park employees, a football coach for youth, an electrician and a law enforcement academy graduate were all a part of those caught in immorality this week.

Among the charges faced by the suspects are things such as unlawful use of a two-way communication device, attempted lewd batter, seduce/solicit/entice to commit a sexual act, drug possession, traveling to meet a minor and procuring a minor for prostitution among other things.

Dad didn't stop there.  He locked his daughter out of her Facebook account and took away her computer.  The mother, acting as her daughter, continued to message the man and finalized the elopement plans.  Dad and two friends waited until he arrived and held him down until the police came and arrested him.

How to Hire a Private Investigator

Private investigators often work for individuals, insurance companies or attorneys in an effort to discover undercover secrets.  Most of them are professionals with a state license if it is required.  If you plan to hire a private investigator, he should have the experience necessary to do the job.  If necessary, you can also be your own private investigator with the proper private investigation equipment.

The necessary qualifications

In order to hire a private investigator, there are some things you should know.  If you’re state licenses private investigators, he should have a license.  He should also be licensed to carry a firearm if he carries one with him.  This person should be organized and know how to take detailed notes.

It is extremely important that he have a clean criminal record.  He should have experience testifying in court concerning his observations.  The most important thing is that he should be a person who is willing to work the hours necessary to solve your case.

Good questions to ask

Since some states do not license private investigators, you should ask the person you are considering hiring the following questions:

  • How long have you worked as a private investigator?
  • How did you become a private investigator?
  • What kind of experience do you have with cases like mine?
  • Are you bonded and insured in case something happens?
  • How can I be sure you will keep my case and the information involved confidential?
  • How much do you expect this case to cost me?

How much should you expect to pay

When hiring a private investigator, most of them ask for an up front fee to get started.  Find out if this fee is refundable.  Many times it is not.

Ask what things you will be billed for and have them listed with their rates.  Different private investigators have different rates.  Most charge between $50 and $85 an hour.  Cases generally require a minimum of five to twelve hours of work.

Talking to your private investigator

Make sure you tell your private investigator everything you can think of about your case.  Make sure to cover the who, what, where, when, how and why.  Your investigator should be asking you questions and showing an interest in the case.  Discuss the methods he plans to use to solve your case, and make sure you are both in agreement.

Hidden Cameras and the IRS

In light of the recent IRS scandal that came to light, you would think these people would get the hint that the American people do not appreciate them being their own private investigator and purchasing private investigation equipment.  However, it appears that is too much to expect from those in the Obama administration.

    North Carolina Bill SB648

Senator Brent Jackson, a Republican from Autryville, North Carolina, has introduced a bill in North Carolina that would make it an offence to lie on a job application in order to be able to record information or to obtain documents from a business.  If this was done, those documents and recordings would have to be turned over to law enforcement within a 24 hour period.  The N.C. Chamber is backing bill SB648.

Opposing the bill are dozens of organizations including the National Press Photographers Association.  Their reasons for opposing are as follows:

    • It abridges the First Amendment rights of citizens and journalists
    • The bill possibly violates North Carolina's shield law
    • It fails to allow reporters or others an opportunity to argue before a judge concerning whether or not the shield law applies.
    • Offenders would be fined $10,000 for the first offense and $50,000 for each offense that follows.

This bill would effectively prohibit all private undercover investigations of businesses.

    What Would You Do?

Susan Cox Powell and her two boys

What would you do if your daughter had been missing for nearly four years, and now the police decide to stop searching for your daughter, because "they have run out of tips"?  However, your daughter is gone, your two grandsons are dead, your son-in-law is dead, his brother is dead and their father is in jail on pornography charges.  Susan Powell's father has decided to take things in his own hands by hiring a private investigator and starting his own private investigation.

He and his private investigator will begin by searching along a 400 mile stretch of Interstate 84 that runs between Pendleton, Oregon and Tremonton, Utah.  After being interviewed by the police for the first time, Josh Powell rented a car on December 8, 2009.  When he returned the rental car on December 10, the odometer showed he had driven 807 miles.  During the time he was gone, he activated new cell phones in Tremonton, Utah.

Susan's dad and the investigator will hand out flyers as they talk with local residents and law enforcement officers along the road.  They hope to find someone who remembers something about that fateful night when Susan disappeared in 2009.

The Importance of Undercover Videos and Recordings

There are numerous ways to use the concept of private investigations.  Today there are two organizations that are using it to bring to light the corruption that is all around us.  The first time we heard about this was several years ago when James O'Keefe and his companion exposed Planned Parenthood for what they were.

With Planned Parenthood, Mr. O'Keefe and his companion dresses as a pimp and a prostitute and presented the idea of bringing girls from a Latin country to the US and forming a house of prostitution.  Planned Parenthood answered their questions and explained to them exactly what they would need to do and how to do it.  Mr. O'Keefe took videos and recorded every conversation with a secret camera.  This was eventually exposed to lawmakers and Americans across the United States.

Mr. O'Keefe's next project was to find out how he could vote in the election several times so his candidate would be sure to win.  Representing the state of Virginia, Representative Jim Moran's son was caught on video telling Project Veritas that it could be done, but that they would have to "forge utility bills."

Their most recent undercover project exposed the hypocrisy of those pushing gun control laws that would leave people defenseless in their homes.  When these people were offered a sign proclaiming that their home was "gun free", none of them were willing to place it in their front yard. Learn more about these projects and see the videos at Project Veritas.

Recently a pro-life website  has released three undercover videos on the abortion industry.  People across America have been shocked as abortion doctors or nurses have made statements such as, "We will not resuscitate a baby born alive after a botched abortion", or a baby born alive after a botched abortion should just be flushed down the toilet".  These videos and other pro-life information can be found at Life News.

Undercover videos are an excellent way to expose the corruption running rampant in America today.  It doesn't matter if you are a professional private investigator or if you are just an amateur who wants to see if there is something he/she can do to make a difference.  Just make sure you follow the laws in the state you live in.  The Project Veritas website lists the laws of each state.  Many states allow undercover videos and recordings if just one of the parties is in agreement, making this a feasible occupation in many areas

10 Successful Surveillance Tips for Private Investigators

    by Scott B. Fulmer

Surveillance is an art form, not a science.  Unfortunately many of its best lessons are learned through trial and error.  Whether you conduct insurance, defense or domestic investigations, surveillance is a large part of your day as a private investigator.  The following 10 suggestions will help you conduct a more cost-effective and successful surveillance.

    1. A Detailed Intake Sheet  Start by gathering as much information as you can from the client up front.  This sounds pretty obvious but you'd be surprised.  Many clients simply want to give you the subject's name, age and address and leave it at that.  A detailed intake sheet draws together information above and beyond the industry standard: information such as doctor appointments, therapy appointments, marital status, number of children, hobbies, etc.  This allows for a clearer picture of the subjects routine and helps you avoid re-inventing the wheel out in the field.  This information, together with a search of public and proprietary databases, will save you time and allow you to provide your client a more cost-effective investigation.  More...

The Importance of an Investigator’s Job

As our entire nation watched another terrorist attack take place on American soil, we saw a couple of things happen.  First of all, people forgot about themselves and the danger they were facing and concentrated on helping those around them.  It was a beautiful picture of what has made America great for all these years.  Ordinary everyday people worked right alongside medical professionals, and no one pointed out the difference.

As people were moved from the scene to the hospitals and the street began to clear, investigators of different kinds began to move in and do their job.  It was up to them to secure the area to keep the evidence from becoming contaminated.  This is the first step in making sure that the individual or individuals who perpetrated this terrible crime can be brought to justice.

It is the job of the investigators working the crime scene to find evidence and to conserve it.  They look for anything they can find to prove the case in court.  They must be extremely careful not to leave their fingerprints on evidence that is found.

Over and over investigators have asked that people come forward with any information that might help them find the perpetrator.  Pictures that were taken, suspicious actions or words or mere suspicions are being looked at with the greatest of care.  It is not always a large, important clue that solves the case. This is the important job of an investigator.

Is There a Person That Gives You the Willies?

In a neighborhood in South Dakota, a mom and her three kids lived in a nice neighborhood.  Because she was a widow, the community was very helpful and supportive of her when she moved in.  They would bring her homemade meals, desserts and even offer to baby sit while she found a new job.  Of course, this woman was very happy about the support and such that she received.  She never thought about doing a personal investigation on anyone to discover a secret of anyone. The man who lived next door would often come out and talk to her over the fence.  She enjoyed gardening, so she would weed the garden and plant seeds while they chatted.  The woman noticed that her daughter enjoyed talking to the man as well.  Several times she watched the man laughing at her daughter's 8 year old jokes over the fence.  For some unknown reason, it made the hair on the back of her neck stand up.

After a couple more times of watching her daughter talk to this man over the fence, the mother informed her daughter that she was not to stand outside and speak to the man anymore.  When her daughter asked why, she didn't have a reply.  In fact, she even asked herself what made her feel so strange about the man talking to her daughter.  He had been nothing but nice and probably just felt sorry for the little ones losing their dad the way they did.  Without trying to alarm her daughter, the mom simply told her that it wasn't polite to hold the man up all day, chatting and bothering him.

Searching on the web one day, the mother came across a website where she could search public records.  The explanation of the site piqued the mother's interest and she had a thought.  Knowing the next door neighbor's name, she decided to check him out.  Because the website said that you could discover secrets about someone just by knowing their name, the mother decided to satisfy her curiosity.  She typed in the name and within seconds she was directed to a page full of secrets discovered  on this very 'nice' man.  In fact, she received his local and national criminal and civil records, his phone number, his address, and his arrest records.  It turns out that a few years ago; this man was convicted of touching a child under the age of 8 for sexual purposes - he was a local sex offender!  The mother was absolutely horrified.  She could not believe what she was reading and that no one had told her anything.

Deciding it must be a mistake, she checked the local sex offender list and sure enough, he was there.  The mother alerted the police that the man had been speaking with her daughter, and decided to move.  She was so thankful that the website had been there and that she had been feeling strangely about him.  Without those two things, she didn't want to think about what might have eventually happened.  If you are suspicious about someone, please do what this mother did and check it out.  You never know what kind of tragedy you can prevent.

    Being a Private Investigator

    Written by:  Barton Archer

Many people have glamorized visions of what it is to be a private investigator.  Car chases, beautiful women, and blazing gun fights capture the imagination.  And the imagination is where such notions belong.  Books, TV, movies and other media reinforce these images.

Real private investigators are basically fact-finders.  Their job is to locate information for clients who would not be able to locate it themselves.  Sometimes it involves researching records, examining documents, or conducting surveillance.  Surveillance operations can involve several hours of boredom in search of maybe a few minutes of activity.

Private investigations can cover a wide range of activities.  The insurance industry employs investigators to look into possible fraud, such as false worker's compensation claims.  Corporations use investigators to research potential business Partners, also known as due diligence investigations.  Lawyers often have investigators, either on payroll or on retainer, to work on their cases.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there are actually several different types of investigators who work in the private sector.  Traditional private investigators are essentially freelance fact-finders who offer their services to a variety of clients, ranging from lawyers to suspicious spouses to corporations.  More...

    A Tragedy Prevented

watch out for a local sex offender
Brock had used a website called Cellphone Registry one time to find out who the owner was of a cell number he had found in his briefcase.  It had been scrawled on a napkin and must have been there forever because he had totally forgotten where it came from.  After finding out about this website through a search online, he had found out that the number was from a client that he'd worked with several months prior.  After using the website that one time, he had forgotten about it - until it was his turn to take the kids to the park.

Jesse was a four year old with limitless energy and Laura was a thirteen year old that had just started begging her dad to allow her to wear fingernail polish.  Their mother and Brock's wife had a meeting and it was his day to spend time with the kids.  In the middle of running around the slide to catch Jesse and keep him from putting a frog on another little girl, Brock had a phone call.  It was an important client that couldn't wait, so he told Laura to watch Jesse and he went to the bench to answer the call.

The client was particularly rattled and kept Brock distracted on the phone longer than he'd planned to be.  He ruffled through his briefcase to find papers that he could reference for the client in order to explain a point and by the time he got off the phone, half an hour had passed.  Of course, he had glanced up at the children, but seeing that they were still there and playing, he hadn't worried.

On the way home, Laura became upset.  Brock tried to find out why and was absolutely floored and outraged when he did find out.  While he was on the phone, a man had come to the fence on the other side of the park.  He had called Laura over and talked to her for a minute.  He told her that she was very pretty and that he would like to talk to her more.  Laura described the man as 'really old, like Grandpa.'  She was extremely upset and said that the man had said she would make a good girlfriend.  He had given her a piece of paper with a cell phone number on it and told her to call him.

Brock saw completely red and after dropping the kids off at home, he returned to the park and looked around.  Of course, the man was nowhere to be found.  Just then, Brock remembered the cell phone number and the website.  Speeding home, he went to CellphoneRegistry and entered the number.  Although the man had thought he was being smart to give the girl a cell phone number, Brock found his name instantly.  Disturbingly, he also found his criminal records and found out he was a convicted local sex offender.  He immediately called the police, and the man was arrested.  Brock couldn't have been more thankful that this website had stopped this man from harassing or doing worse things to other girls Laura's age.  Brock never took another call at the park again, either.

Important Information for Private Investigators and Detectives

If you are considering becoming a private investigator or detective, it's important to know what the job consists of and what the prospects for the job are.  No one wants to spend time and money learning about a job that they will dislike later on or that will pay so poorly that they can't even pay their bills.  The information you will find below is invaluable.

    What they do

These folks trace missing persons, investigate computer crimes, verify perople's backgrounds for jobs and special relationships and protect celebrities.  They also hunt for the facts and analyze information about personal, legal and financial matters.  When secrets need to be discovered these are the folks that get called.

    Education

Interestingly, a private investigator or detective can enter the job force with only some college, but they do not need a degree.  One to five years of work experience in a related occupation is a plus.  Training is given on-the-job.  Private detectives and investigators do need a license in some states.

Hire a Private Investigator or Do It Yourself

Deciding whether to hire a private investigator or to investigate on their own is not a decision most people have a long time to consider.  It is not uncommon for a person to unexpectedly find himself thrown into a life changing situation where an investigation needs to be done.  Suddenly, they have to make a decision.

hiring a private investigatorThere are a variety of reasons people hire a private investigator or investigate a situation themselves:  It’s necessary that secrets be discovered.  Some common examples are:
    •  To locate someone they want to find
    •   To locate someone who owes them money
    •  To do a background check on a potential family member, business partner or potential employee
    •  To do a criminal investigation
    • To prove their innocence in a crime
    •  To do GPS tracking or to place hidden cameras
Hiring a private investigator is often very expensive, and it is not something that everyone can afford.  There are two ways to get secrets discovered without paying a fortune when there is a problem that needs to be solved.  The person can take an online course and become an official private investigator himself, or he can use an online tool that allows him to do his own investigating with unlimited access to all sorts of public records.

The online course is more costly, but it also provides a line of work that the person can acquire a job in.  According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for a private investigator or private detective is excellent.  Between 2010 and 2020, it is projected that this type of job will have a 21 percent growth rate, which is higher than normal.  The average yearly salary is roughly $43,000.  If you have lost your job and need a new one or if you desperately need to find a loved one, don’t wait, get started NOW!

If a person wants to do a simple investigation to see if a person has a criminal record or to find a person, it is less costly to use an online tool that will give access to the majority of a person’s records.  If you are getting a new business partner or thinking about hiring a new employee, it is extremely important to know who they are and see if secrets need to be discovered.   Click Here!  Before it is too late. Phone records, public records, inmate records, sex offender records and criminal records are just an example of the types of records that the person would be able to access.  There is usually a small charge for a short trial period to try out the product and then a monthly fee of approximately $20 for as long as the person requires the private investigation service help.

Secrets Discovered: 5 Reasons They Should Be

Most people face a time in their life when they sense that something is not right, but they don’t know what it is.  It is usually a difficult time when someone in their life is doing something wrong, or it may be the need to know if something is wrong in a person’s life.  Hiring a private investigation service may be an option.  These are reasons for secrets to be discovered.

    Sex outside of marriage

Sex outside of marriage is an issue that many parents face with their teenagers.  Suddenly a teen becomes very preoccupied with his parents’ schedule and wants to know what they will be doing each day and when they will be home.  Parents may have noticed that the teen has singled out just one person of the opposite sex and spends as much time as possible with them.

Fear of STDs and possible parenthood cause the parent to question the relationship.  In most cases, the teen denies they are sexually active.  What can a parent do to discover the truth?

    Infidelity in marriage

Infidelity in marriage is another reason that makes it necessary for secrets to be discovered.  Things begin to change in little ways, and the faithful spouse begins to take notice.  The unfaithful spouse will no longer look their spouse in the eye when they talk, they start staying away from home for longer periods of time with lame excuses, they have an increased interest in their appearance and may even purchase new clothing, there is a notable decline in their desire for intimacy and money is spent for unexplained items.  It’s time for the faithful spouse to start a private investigation.

    Criminal record

Many people do everything in their power to hide their criminal record, especially when they want to marry someone or want to be hired for a job.  It is becoming more and more important for people to find out who a person really is before they begin a relationship with them or hire them for a job.  Knowing ahead of time what will have to be faced can be a big help in a relationship.

Involvement in things they shouldn’t be involved in

It has become quite common for individuals to be involved in things they shouldn’t be involved in.  Things like drugs and thievery are two things people seldom admit.  A sudden unwillingness to talk and the desire to be by themselves are often telltale signs that something is wrong.  It’s time for secrets to be discovered by using private investigation tools.
