Undercover Investigation in Polk County, Florida Turns Up 41 Child Predators

June 17, 2013

During the past week private investigators have been conducting surveillance in Polk County, looking for online child predators.  Forty-one were arrested including one female.  The suspects answered ads from places such as Craigslist and Backpage and talked with investigators on social media sites.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said that even though this private investigation is the tenth operation of its kind that has been carried out since 2006, and in spite of the fact that the arrests are broadcast through the media and suspects are placed under arrest, men and women continue to travel to Polk County, Florida, to have sex with a child.  He assured the people that private investigators will continue to hunt down and arrest those who come there for that purpose.
Theme park employees, a football coach for youth, an electrician and a law enforcement academy graduate were all a part of those caught in immorality this week.

Among the charges faced by the suspects are things such as unlawful use of a two-way communication device, attempted lewd batter, seduce/solicit/entice to commit a sexual act, drug possession, traveling to meet a minor and procuring a minor for prostitution among other things.
